Get your design in for Red’s new digs
The Queensland Reds’ incredibly cute and talented mascot Red continues to win more fans with his sideline tricks.
At Suncorp Stadium last Friday night, you couldn’t wipe the smiles off the faces of Lachlan Hood, 10, and his brother Callum, 6, as they got to play with the 16-week-old red heeler puppy.
“He’s adorable and has incredibly soft fun. I would love to help train him,” said Lachlan, who plays hooker in the Ipswich Rangers Rugby Union U11 team.
Read’s new skills have even surprised his proud trainer Justin Jordan, of Jordan Dog Training.
“He can now even pretend to be asleep. He can high five, share hands, roll over, jump and fetch. I can even take Red for a 2km run off the lead,” said Mr Jordan.
Now all Red Dog needs is a kennel. If you are aged 12 and under, you have until April 30 to get your designs into Reds HQ. The winner of the competition will get to meet Red and a number of Reds players during a visit to the winner’s school.
