Obedience Training

Tailored Dog Obedience Training For Every Stage of Your Dog's Life

No matter the age, whether a young puppy or an adult dog, your furry friend can benefit from dog obedience training.

Not only does it provide early exposure to different people and other animals, which is essential for their development and socialisation, but it also helps establish good behaviour, leading to a harmonious and positive relationship between you and your dog.

With our dog obedience training classes in Brisbane, you and your trainer can:

  • Teach your dog lead manners with loose lead walking.
  • Effectively manage and desensitise leash frustration and aggression.
  • Teach your dog to have a reliable recall (come exercise) with distractions around.
  • Learn to be calm and focussed with all types of distractions.
  • Learn how to mark and reward behaviours while training in a positive and harmonious way with your dog.

Our 1:3 Trainer to Dog Ratio

Ensuring you and your dog get the personal attention you deserve

Dogs learn best when taught consistently and given the right balance of structure and encouragement. That’s why our group dog obedience classes have a minimum of one trainer for every three dogs.

This ensures that you and your dog receive support throughout the training process. We often have one trainer for two dogs for even more precision and enhanced learning for you both! Our accredited trainers run our obedience classes, ensuring you and your dog receive the personalised attention you need.

Group Obedience is for dogs of all ages

Designed for dogs from 5 months old, with no upper age limit

Dog obedience training should be an essential part of any dog’s development.

Our obedience training in Brisbane will help your dog develop manners and follow your commands regardless of environment or distractions.

It is an invaluable investment that continues the socialisation experience for your dog and will also assist you in maintaining harmony in the relationship between you and your four-legged friend.

If your dog has specific behavioural problems, such as excessive barking or separation anxiety, we recommend a private in-home dog training session before the next step of undertaking group obedience training.

Our obedience classes are held in various locations around the Brisbane region. With Brisbane classes held in Ashgrove, Kedron, North Lakes, Caboolture and Morningside, there is sure to be an obedience training session near you.

We can also recommend obedience trainers in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba areas.

Obedience for Life Membership

When you enrol your dog in one of our group obedience courses, this includes Obedience for Life membership.

After the initial three-week course, your dog is welcome to return to unlimited additional classes at no additional cost – for the life of the dog at any of our training locations.

That means your dog can keep coming back:

  • Until they are performing at the level that you want
  • When they reach adolescence or go through a naughty phase

Why do we offer this?

Obedience isn’t just about teaching sitting, dropping, or staying, although it may feel like it sometimes.

Lifetime Members - Returning to a Class

Make the most of your Lifetime Membership

Once you’ve completed your initial Group Obedience classes and received your Lifetime Membership Card, it’s easy to continue obedience training for no additional fee.

You can come as often as you like to any of our locations as many times a week as you like for the life of your dog.

1. Locate the class/es you want to attend in the table above

2. Click BOOK NOW, to access trainer phone number.
Send an SMS to the Trainer at least 48 hours before the class, so we can organise enough training resources for all dogs (and people). Please let us know the day/location of the class you want to come to, and include a photo of your membership card.
This allows us to quickly identify you and ensure we book you into the correct class.

3. Remember to bring your membership card, and show it to the Trainer when you arrive at the class.

NOTE: Confirming your attendance with the Trainer is essential. Not doing so may result in being turned away from the class, as we allocated resources for classes 48 hours prior to that class, based on the confirmed class size at that time.

Please ensure you follow all Class Terms & Conditions and remember to wear closed in shoes.

Dog Obedience Training FAQs

Obedience classes will help with general obedience issues.

Issues such as:

  • barking,

  • jumping up,

  • destructive behaviour,

  • separation anxiety, and

  • aggression

are behaviour issues rather than obedience issues – and an in-home consultation would be far more beneficial in resolving the issues.

With our experience, techniques and guidance - and with a little work, time and patience on your part - we know your dog will respond.

Our training program provides you with guidance to continue developing your dog’s newfound manners.

We offer lifetime membership to our obedience classes, meaning you can return to as many classes a week at any location for the life of your dog, so you and your best friend always have support if further guidance is needed.

No, not at all!

We work with dogs of all ages and have effective results regardless of the age.

We prefer more modern, gentle techniques, which are more effective and beneficial to your relationship with the dog.

We suggest you bring a standard collar and leash to our obedience classes.

We do not allow check chains to be used in any of our classes.

We believe in any form of positive reward that helps to motivate your dog.

This includes praise, toys, clicker or treats, depending on the situation and the dog.

Yes - however venue locations are subject to change, especially during inclement weather.

If a venue location or class update occurs you will be notified ahead of time, and have the option to re-book at one of our other locations.

Lifetime Membership applies only to the dog who completed the initial Obedience class, and lasts for the life of that dog.

If you have more than one dog, or add another dog to your family, each dog will need to complete a group obedience class to obtain their own Lifetime Membership.
