Justin’s introduction to dog training came from taking his family dogs to obedience training, where he and his dogs excelled as naturals, forming a strong bond and love for working together.
His patience, dedicated and skilful approach to dog training didn’t go unnoticed. Justin’s exceptional talents led him to be invited by several dog training organisations to work as an instructor, where he helped others discover the joy of working with dogs and develop their individual skills.
What truly sets Justin apart is his unique journey of mentorship under the late John Richardson, renowned as the Dog Whisperer. Justin had the privilege of being invited by John to study and train alongside him, which ultimately led to him being honoured with the esteemed title of Master Dog Trainer. Justin is a dedicated member of the Pet Industry Association Australia and actively participates in the Dog Training Consultative Group, contributing to the development of a “Model Code of Practice” to establish industry best practices in dog training across Australia. He also served as a voice for members, addressing concerns related to training techniques and methods.
In addition to his professional commitments, Justin collaborated with the Brisbane City Council, engaging in Animal Management Forums to enhance the council’s approach to responsible animal ownership. His involvement extended to volunteering at K-9 capers events organised by the council throughout Brisbane.
Justin’s expertise encompasses both Puppy Schools, Obedience Training, Dog Agility, Dog Sports, Wildlife Aversion Training and Behavioural Problem-solving. Furthermore, Justin has a regular segment on 4BC Radio titled “Ask the Professionals.” In this program, he is in the studio, taking calls from pet owners across Australia, and helping them with any questions or problems they may have with their pets.
