Queensland Rugby’s Junior Mascot, Red Dog, along with Reds players, will be taking part in the RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk on Sunday 18 May, starting from Chermside, Brisbane.
The Million Paws Walk is RSPCA’s biggest fundraising event of the year, to help fight against animal cruelty.
To register and take part in your local walk, go to www.millionpawswalk.com.au.
Money raised will help fund RSPCA’s work, including the care of more than 18,000 dogs entering shelters each year.
RSPCA spokesperson Michael Beatty said “All of us at RSPCA Queensland are thrilled that Red Dog and his ‘team mates’ have agreed to support this year’s Million Paws Walk. Not only is Red Dog a wonderful ambassador, but he epitomises all that we associate with responsible pet ownership,” Beatty said.
“Bernie Bredhauer from the Northgate Vertinary Surgery and Justin Jordan from Jordan Dog Training are doing a great job raising Red Dog. He’s been well cared for and is receiving invaluable training that will ensure he’s well socialised with humans and other dogs.
“His involvement is a real boost to our most important fundraising event of the year and we’re very grateful to everyone at the Reds for their support.”
