Puppy School for a confident start

Give your puppy the best start with practical training, carefully managed socialisation and support from our experienced trainers. Our indoor Puppy School classes are held in veterinary clinics across Brisbane.

We will help you with toilet training, biting and mouthing, settling, handling and basic manners. Learn how to build your puppy’s confidence, understand their behaviour and practise good habits at home.

Photographers attend most Puppy School graduation sessions, but not every session. If graduation photos are important to you, please check with us before booking.

Designed for puppies aged 8–18 weeks

Puppies should finish Puppy School by 18 weeks. If your puppy is older, contact us for guidance. For dogs from five months, explore our Group Obedience classes with lifetime membership.

A welcoming place to learn

Our classes take place in controlled, air-conditioned veterinary clinic spaces. Puppies can join from eight weeks after their first vaccination, and we check vaccination certificates before the course begins.

As your puppy grows, our dog obedience classes and behaviour training offer further support for your dog and family.

Your four-week Puppy School course

Learn how to teach your puppy sit, drop, stay, name recognition, coming when called and loose lead walking. Each week also covers practical ways to manage common puppy behaviours and build good manners.

Support between classes

Once you have booked, our trainers can help with questions about toilet training, chewing, barking, jumping up and pulling on the lead. Contact us by phone or email and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

For practice at home, our independent Furbo pet camera information explains monitoring during gradual alone-time training, including alerts, recording and subscription limits. Jordan Dog Training is not affiliated with Furbo and does not sell its cameras.

Bring these essentials to each class:

  • Your puppy.
  • A vaccination certificate showing your puppy has had at least their first vaccination.
  • A suitable lead.
  • A collar, with no check chains.
  • Yummy dog treats.
  • A familiar mat for your puppy to lie on.

Puppies can start from eight weeks after their first vaccination and should complete the four-week course by 18 weeks. If you are unsure which start date suits your puppy, contact our team before booking.

Yes, you’re welcome to bring one other person with you. A maximum of two people can attend per puppy.

Yes. You'll need to enrol both your puppies, and have preferably one human handler per puppy unless previously arranged.

Socialisation is the key factor for puppy pre-school, in this precious imprinting stage. It's not so much about training the human, however since every dog is different - it doesn't hurt to also brush up on your skills.
