Puppy preschool in unprecedented times

With the threat of COVID-19 and impending lockdowns and business closures, we are now offering puppy preschool differently. All of our staff have undertaken COVID-19 infection control training and are taking appropriate measures to ensure that your puppy can still experience their essential puppy socialisation.

What’s changing:

  • Some of our venues are temporarily closing as they are unsuitable for puppy classes in the current environment.
  • Where our classes are continuing, they are in venues large enough to accommodate social distancing, and we are limiting numbers to ensure that government recommendations are adhered to.
  • We ask that only one family member attend per puppy where possible.
  • Hand-washing facilities and/or hand sanitiser are available and we encourage you to use these facilities.
  • All surfaces are being sanitised before and after use
  • Payment is to be made online so that cash is not being passed between humans
  • Your puppy’s graduation certificate will be emailed to you for you to print and frame or laminate

We have also introduced a Puppies Only puppy preschool

  • These are clearly marked on the bookings page
  • Families are asked to drop off their puppy for a 30 minute socialisation session supervised by an experienced trainer using positive techniques to ensure puppies engage in appropriate play
  • Drop off and pick-up of your puppy will be one person at a time. Please wait in your car until you are approached by the trainer.
  • Please ensure your puppy is on a secure collar and lead. When approached, please have one person only exit your car with the puppy. The trainer will pick the puppy up off the ground so that appropriate social distancing is maintained
  • Appropriate sanitisation will occur between each human interaction
  • Fact sheets covering all of the topics normally discussed in class will be emailed home for you to read

While these circumstances are not ideal, we are available to troubleshoot and answer any puppy or dog-related questions you may have. Just reach out to us by phone or email and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Jordan Dog Training’s puppy preschool program is designed for puppies from 8 to 18 weeks of age. Classes will run once a week for four weeks (on the same day and time each week). Once your puppy has had their first vaccination at 8 weeks of age, they are able to commence puppy classes with us.

>> Did you know that some pet insurance policies pay benefits towards dog training, including our puppy pre-school course. Ask your pet insurance provider if this is included in your policy.

Telephone consultation, In-home puppy set-ups and in-home training are also available, with appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures.

What our clients think of our Puppy Training...

Justin creates a friendly and relaxing environment in all of his classes. He delivers information clearly and professionally.

I have taken both of my dogs to his classes and would highly recommend them to anyone with a new puppy. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first dog or your tenth, the social aspect of the group is fantastic.

A special mention also goes to his willingness to help after hours. He was happy to field any questions I had regarding my new fur friend.
