Dog Trainer

Growing up on a farm, dogs have always been an important part of my life. My passion for dog training began at a young age when I decided our family Border Collie could benefit from some training. Before long, he had become a valuable and trusted farm companion. This early experience sparked my fascination with canine behaviour and the incredible relationships that can develop between dogs and their owners through understanding, communication and training.
As a teenager, I spent every opportunity walking, caring for and spending time with neighbourhood dogs before finally welcoming a Border Collie of my own. Taking dog ownership seriously from the beginning, I immersed myself in obedience training and dog sports, developing a lifelong passion that continues today.
Around 15 years ago, I began working professionally in the pet industry, gaining valuable experience in dog washing, grooming and pet sitting. Working with a diverse range of breeds, temperaments and personalities further developed my understanding of canine behaviour, learning and communication.
One of my most valuable learning experiences has come through working with my own sensitive and hypervigilant Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog, who has faced challenges with reactivity and resource guarding. This personal journey has given me a deeper appreciation of the emotional needs of dogs, the importance of recognising their individual challenges and the patience required to help them build confidence and trust.
As part of the Jordan Dog Training team, I am passionate about helping owners better understand their dogs and providing them with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to overcome challenges together.
I believe successful dog training is about more than teaching commands. It’s about building trust, strengthening communication and creating a calm, rewarding and lasting relationship between dogs and the people who love them.
