We’re all about giving your puppy the best start in life, which is why we offer fun and interactive puppy training classes to Brisbane dog owners.

Led by friendly and experienced trainers, our puppy school gives furry friends the opportunity to grow and learn essential life skills in an engaging, supportive environment.

Jordan Dog Training puppy pre-school will answer all your questions about your new addition to the family. We will give you the tools and information to raise a happy, healthy, well-behaved puppy.

Puppy training is a great opportunity to bond with your new puppy. You will learn how to establish boundaries whilst keeping them safe. It will also allow your puppy to get some early socialisation with other dogs and people in a safe and controlled environment supervised by one of our friendly and experienced certified instructors. We’ll always ensure you get personalised and professional training for you and your best friend with ongoing support.

Photographers attend most of our Puppy School graduation sessions, but not every single one. If graduation photos are an important part of your decision to attend, please check with us before booking to confirm whether the date and location of your course will have a photographer present at the graduation session.

Designed for puppies 8-18 weeks of age

Once your puppy has had their first vaccination at 8 weeks, they can commence puppy classes with us.

Our puppy training classes are held in a controlled, air-conditioned environment inside a veterinary clinic. This ensures the safety of all the puppies attending the classes. The puppy training classes are a four-week course that runs for one hour a week over four weeks (at the same location on the same day and time each week).

At Jordan Dog Training, we truly believe that positive training and socialisation set your furry friend up for a lifetime of happiness and success. This is why we also offer dog obedience and behaviour training if, for when your furry friend matures, they begin to struggle with previously managed obedience or behavioural issues.

Puppy Preschool Course outline

During our puppy training course, you will learn how to teach your puppy obedience skills.

These include sit, drop, stay, name recognition, come when called, and loose-leash walking.

We also provide tips and tricks to avoid common behaviour issues.

Our puppy trainers specialise in toilet training, chewing, problem barking, jumping up, pulling on lead, and basic good manners, and once you’ve booked into Puppy Pre-school they are to troubleshoot and answer any puppy or dog-related questions you may have.

What to bring to Puppy Pre-school

Preparing for puppy preschool is easy! To ensure your puppy has the best experience and gets the most out of their training, here’s a list of essentials to bring along:

  • Your puppy!
  • Vaccination certificate showing your puppy has had at least their first vaccination.
  • A suitable Lead for your puppy.
  • Collar (no check chains, please).
  • Yummy dog treats.
  • A familiar mat for your puppy to lie on.

From 8 weeks of age up to 18 weeks of age.

Due to COVID-19 and venue limitation there is only one human allowed per puppy.

Yes. You'll need to enrol both your puppies, and have preferably one human handler per puppy unless previously arranged.

Socialisation is the key factor for puppy pre-school, in this precious imprinting stage. It's not so much about training the human, however since every dog is different - it doesn't hurt to also brush up on your skills.

We request and view vaccination certificates of all puppies starting puppy classes.

We know that not all puppies will have completed their full rounds of vaccination at the time of starting Puppy Pre-school. That's why we only hold our Puppy Pre-schools in a controlled and safe environment - ie. only in vet clinics - so as not to endanger the wellbeing of your dog.

We also make sure we have current vaccination records of all puppies in attendance before they start Puppy Pre-school.
